Chinese President Xi Jinping is embarking on visits to France, Serbia and Hungary, as Beijing is seen as seeking a larger role in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has upended global political and economic security. The visit by Xi is his first to Europe in five years and will “inject new momentum to the peaceful development of the world,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a daily briefing on Monday. During his six-day trip to the three countries starting on May 10, Xi will have talks with the three leaders respectively, Lin said.
