A stranded ship carrying thousands of livestock has returned to Australia. About 16,500 sheep and cattle have been stowed on the MV Bahijah since January 5, when it sailed for the Middle East from Western Australia. Two weeks into its journey the ship was ordered to turnaround due to the ongoing Yemen Houthi rebels attacks in the Red Sea. Authorities are now rushing to form plans for how to safely offload and quarantine some of the livestock amid heatwave conditions. (Feb. 2)
